Fundraising to help build toilets in rural Uttar Pradesh, India

Vision Statement

  • Each household in the state of "Uttar Pradesh" should have a toilet. 
  • Cleaner public toilet facilities in Uttar Pradesh.

 Mission Statement

  • We want each household in Sidhuapar village (Gorakhpur District, UP, India)  to have toilets. At the moment, there are only 80 toilets in 800 households of the village.

Below recent news article alarms the need for toilets in each household in India.

The objectives of this campaign are:

  • To raise fund to construct toilet for 50 rural households, with a target amount of SGD 27,500. Cost of each good quality toilet is INR 27,000 (approximately SGD 550).
  • To raise awareness for the importance of clean sanitation  to reduce unhygienic and unhealthy defecating practices in rural India.

Feedback Report

Sponsors  will receive a feedback report in 4-6 months. Report will include : Names of family members, complete address, report on before/after condition and date donation was used with accompanying photograph.

World Toilet Day is celebrated on 19 November. Our target is to raise funds to construct toilets in at least 50 households in the village by 19th November 2016.
