On July 20, 1969 a man from Earth walked on the moon, on August 25, 2012 a manmade object became an interstellar spacecraft after a 35 year journey across the solar system, on September 25 2014 India became the 3rd country in the world to successfully send a spacecraft to planet Mars and the first country to succeed in its maiden attempt. Reading all this laurels about mankind its hard to believe that even today our global literacy rate is around 84% as of 2010 where as India's literacy rate is 74% as of 2011. The literacy rate of the state of Uttar Pradesh, the most populated state of the country, is even below the national average at 69%.

Literacy Rate is measured by the ability of a person to read or write and not as the knowledge that a person possesses. The world over there is shortage of teachers, general teachers. The teachers who are available many of them do not possess the quality required for a good teacher despite the fact that there is no shortage of learned and skilled professionals. Probably this is the reason why Our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, realizing this fact asked the professionals of the nation in his speech on 15th August 2014 to dedicate few hours in a week to teaching the kids at school. This is a great thought and if implemented properly will not only reduce the cost of education but also improve the quality of education across the country and probably the globe. However its success does not depend on the government but we the people. We have to take the initiative and volunteer our time and energy to igniting the young minds in places near us and also far flung areas of the country.

We have taken this endeavor to provide quality education to kids and are seeking your help in fulfilling it. We are looking for volunteers who can teach or assist teachers in teaching subjects like English, French, Mathematics, Science. Extra curricular roles: Art, Drama, Music, sports, dance. Minimum age of the volunteer should be 16 years. Volunteer will be provided with free and comfortable, safe and private accommodation and food. If needed visa will be sponsored by the concerned schools. Duration of volunteer work can range from 1 week to 1 month. You can start or apply for the volunteer work any time of the year however the preferred period would be October to March. he schools are located in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India about 220 km (3 and half hour drive) from the state capital Lucknow.
